ABOUT SAN ONOFRE FOUNDATION:
The San Onofre Foundation (SOF) is a California non-profit, charitable corporation, whose mission is to provide education, protection, and preservation for the California State Parks at San Onofre and San Clemente State Beaches. As a public liaison to these parklands, the San Onofre Foundation will foster a comprehensive stewardship of this unique recreational resource, with its historically important sites and environmentally significant setting.
The San Onofre Foundation, whose mission is to support education and interpretive efforts at San Clemente and San Onofre State Beaches, is honored to announce two new members to its Board of Directors, Wendy Yoder and Justin F. McCarty III.
Wendy moved to San Clemente in 1964 at age 7 when he father was a career Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton. Wendy resides with her husband Bob of 35 years a short walk from San Clemente State Beach. They have three children who are all surfers and volleyball players and continue to enjoy the water and surf at local State beaches. Wendy is an avid photographer especially enjoying taking photos of our beautiful State Park beaches, flora and fauna. She brings her experience in community leadership and involvement to her role as a SOF Director and as Chairwoman of the San Clemente State Beach Historic Cottage committee.
Justin is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, who pursues his surfing and mountain biking endeavors at our local State Parks. It’s been his passion to protect and preserve the natural environment that brought him to the San Onofre Foundation. When not enjoying the great outdoors with his wife, Tracy, and two children, Justin is a senior vice President for a commercial bank. Justin is involved with numerous industry groups as well as having served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and a reviewer for the National Science Foundation grant programs.
On behalf of the SOF Board of Directors, I’d like express our gratitude to Wendy and Justin for having stepped forward to assure that the broad community of park stakeholders and visitors will always have a voice in promoting environmental awareness while enhancing the quality of recreation experience at our unique coastal parks.
